Laid down at Brown Shipbuilding Co., Houston, Tex., and commissioned 2 June 1944, Lt.(j.g.) Parker N. Davies in command.

• 9 January 1945: TU 79.5.4, carrying 37th Infantry Division to Lingayen Gulf
• 31 Mar-30 Jun 1945: Assault and occupation of Okinawa
• 9 October 1945: Sunk by typhoon at Buckner Bay, Okinawa

  During the afternoon of 9 October [1945] the LSM 15 was overpowerd by the elements. The seas and wind were so severe that the anchor cable parted and the ship was washed upon a reef. Holes were torn in the bottom, flooding the engine room and underwater compartments. In the late afternoon the wind changed and blew the ship off the reef and out to sea. The ship was abandoned at 2100 in the harbor and sank outside the channel entrace. She was later raised, towed out to sea and sunk.
