Departed New York City to Avonmouth, UK, on 25 July 1944, and made milk runs to supply the troops in Normandy and Mont St. Michel until returning to the US. Arrived at Norfolk 23 October. Left New York City on 29 November en route to the Pacific Theater.]
During World War II, LST-1000 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto in April 1945. Following the war, she performed occupation duty in the Far East and saw service in China until mid-April 1946. She returned to the United States and was decommissioned on 22 July 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 28 August that same year. On 13 June 1948, the ship was sold to Walter W. Johnson Co. for scrapping.
