During World War II, LST-811 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the the assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto from March through June 1945. Following the war, LST-811 performed occupation duty in the Far East until early March 1946. She returned to the United States and wax decommissioned on 26 June 1946 and struck from teh Navy list on 31 July that same year. On 4 November 1947, the ship was sold to Dulien Steel Products Inc., of Seattle, Wash., for scrapping.
